When a hardy gang of Irish workmen, led by naive Eugene Moffat and his gruff overbearing father Francie, awaken the ancient Irish vampire that is believed to have inspired the novel Dracula they discover Bram Stoker didn’t know the half of it.

Boys From County Hell follows Eugene Moffat, a naïve yet likable young tradesman, stuck in Six Mile Hill, a sleepy Irish backwater whose only claim to fame is that Bram Stoker once stayed in the local inn. Eugene dreams of upping sticks for Australia with his girlfriend, but a mysterious accident involving the death of his best friend has ensured he remains stuck at home, working construction for his gruff, overbearing Father, Francie.

When Francie asks Eugene to be partner in the family business, Eugene reluctantly agrees and is put in charge of a ragtag group of construction workers building a controversial road development through the barren hills where the death of his friend took place. Strange events unfold when Eugene and the boys disturb an ancient grave site, believed to be the final resting place of the legendary Irish vampire, Abhartach, who is thought to have inspired Stoker’s ‘Dracula.’ When night closes in and the Boys come under attack, Eugene is forced to accept that the myth is true and if he doesn’t fight back, his hometown will suck the life out of him in more ways than one.
